“While they are at your side, love these little ones to the uttermost. Forget yourself. Serve them; care for them; lavish all your tenderness on them ....Love them and win their love, and shower on them all the treasures of your heart. Fill up their days with happiness, and share with them their mirth and innocent delights. Childhood is but for a day. Ere you are aware it will be gone with all its gifts for ever.” ~George Townshend

Virtue of the Month: Gratitude
This month was pretty simple. We read some stories about gratitude and thankfulness and then made a big felt tree on the wall in the making area and cut out lots of colorful maple leaves. Each morning we wrote down something that we were grateful for and stuck our leaf on the tree. It was an easy, nice way to keep the virtue in mind, to build on it and have something beautiful to look at as well. (Mostly beautiful... it would have looked better if Maryam hadn't developed such a fetish with attempting to remove the trunk every time she was in the area.) Now if I could just find a picture...
