After the fact

Although Ridvan is finished, here are a few of the things that we did, or bought at the time and are still planning to do. Such as some flower bulbs that still need planting. On the 9th day of Ridvan we took the day off from school and had some friends over for a simple celebration / play date. H. brought crackers and fruit, T. made pizza and I provided the quiche, veggies and cake. It was a smaller cake than usual this year, but it served it's purpose well. We had tea and chatted and ate. (M. and B. we missed you guys.) The kids enjoyed each others company and took pride in the fact that because it was a Baha'i Holy Day they did not have to be at school and could be at home with others who share the same beliefs.

On the last day of Ridvan (better late than never) I read the children some stories about Ridvan and the events surrounding Baha'u'llah's journey to and from the garden and while I read the kids drew pictures about what they thought that the garden of paradise might look like. Meanwhile our ridvan flowers are still waiting to be planted...
