Holiday

The school holidays are here at last and we are enjoying not having to be anywhere at the crack of dawn, being able to slow down, having family time again and being able to spend the day in our pyjamas if we so choose. We have had a few play dates and have mostly been taking it easy. Our most organized outing so far has been a two hour river cruise with the neighbours aboard an upper deck offering panoramic water views and a below deck restaurant. It was more expensive than our last river outing but very much worth it. Though we still didn't see any mermaids - we did get to see an abundance of dolphins including a mother and her babies.

some even came spectacularly close to the boat and escorted us through parts of the water.

The kids got to enjoy some delicious hot chips as the captain told us about different historical sights along the river. There were many friendly captains on the water, who waved happily as we sailed past and something tells me that we just might find ourselves back here again someday.
